The things we
think and now say.

News didn’t break. It dissolved.

Somewhere between the feed and the algorithm, we traded the story for the stream. We got personalization and lost meaning. We got infinite content and lost context. We got media engineered for engagement and lost the one thing that made any of it worth trusting: a narrative.

So we are building The Narrative, an AI-driven news company. Thousands of specialized outlets, each with its own AI editor-in-chief, each serving a community mass media can’t reach and won’t. Not aggregators. Newsrooms. Every outlet shapes its coverage around a coherent arc: where we came from, where we stand, where we’re headed. The depth and integrity of traditional journalism, at the scale of software.

We are not building another feed. Feeds isolate. We’re building outlets people belong to.

I first wrote this down in September 2023. The technology wasn’t ready. I tried anyway; it still wasn’t ready. So I spent the years since quietly building the machinery. The shows. The pipelines. The production stack. All of it so the machines could hold up their end.

They can now.
